CANNED FOOD DRIVE

Brevard Sharing Center’s quarterly canned drive is Sunday, June 22nd. The need is greater this year than ever before. A poor economy is hard on everyone but devastating to the poor. The Center is serving 10,000 more meals currently than in the prior years and the bags of food are dispensed at an alarming rate. Please bring a can or two, including peanut butter, to church on the 22nd. A collection box is in the narthex. Thank you for supporting this important humanitarian effort in our own community.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

In addition to decent footwear, many children in our neighborhood need essential school supplies to help in the learning process as they return to school. On Sunday, July 27th, we will have a box in the Narthex for anyone desiring to donate school supplies to those in need. Loose leaf paper, lined paper, pens, pencils, and notebooks are all needed. Our goal is to provide everyone with the opportunity to learn.

SNEAKER SUNDAY

August 24th has been designated as Sneaker Sunday for MIPC. Many families in our neighborhood cannot afford decent shoes for their children, and the Central Brevard Sharing Center will help to identify these deserving children and provide low cost, hardy sneakers for them. Your donations on August 24th will support this worthwhile project. Look for an upcoming Moment for Mission.

Late February, as many of you are aware, our grandson, Sean, had very serious surgery to correct extreme scoliosis which had become life threatening. The surgery was difficult and risky. By the grace of God, the surgery succeeded beyond expectation, and his recovery has been rapid. We were comforted and uplifted by the prayers of so many friends. Sean and his parents, Toxey and Debbie, add their thanks. In the past year the awareness of how blessed we are to be a part of MIPC has never been far from our minds. . .Sara and Toxey Hall
